Tutorial › Path 2: Development
Unit 4: Read and share
In this last unit, you review the screenplay, send it to a reader, put the Bible together and learn how to go back.
Read as pages
- Rail › Share: the scenes end to end, on A4 pages, in screenplay layout.
- Inspector › Layout: title page, scene numbers in the margin.
To edit the text, go back to Write: Share is for reading, sharing and printing. On a comment, "Fix" takes you there, with the cursor on the passage.
Review
Rail › Overview › Review: what is still missing, such as a scene with no location or no time, a character mentioned but not cast, a running time gap. Each alert leads to what it points out. The rules: Project review.
Send a version
- Inspector › Sent › "New sent version".
- A title ("Version 1"), a recipient (their name).
- "Create the sent version", then copy the recipient's link and pass it on to them.
The reader reads this frozen version, without an account, and comments. Their comments arrive in the inspector, Comments section. After your corrections, send a second version: the Compare bar, above the pages, shows what changed between the two.
Put the Bible together
- Rail › Share › Documents.
- Inspector › Document: choose it, Full Bible, Step outline, Shot list file, or type a name to create your own.
- In the outline, on the left, tick and order the sections; Inspector › Export: print or export to Word.
The Bible is not written: it draws on what you entered everywhere else.
Go back
Rail › Versions: name a milestone ("end of the tutorial") and save. Restoring a version destroys nothing: the previous state is kept, as a version too.
Next: Path 3: Preparation.
What next
- Your own project: import a screenplay or create an empty project.
- The details of each page: the Guide, in the order of the rail.
- A remark about Gilgamesh: the "Feedback" button, at the bottom right of the app.
