The example project
"Le Voyage dans la Lune" (A Trip to the Moon), after the film by Georges Méliès (1902), is a short film already prepared: enough to try every page without starting from scratch. The tutorial and the welcome tour use it.
The example project is written in French, like the original film's intertitles.
What it contains
- A complete Overview: logline, summary, genre, 4:3 format, intended running time.
- Six written scenes, from the Astronomers' Club to the return into the sea, with their action, their stakes and their cast.
- The six astronomers, the King of the Selenites and his people; their sheets from the Development stage on.
- The locations, including the Moon and its sub-locations: the Selenites' Cave, the Crater's Edge.
Three stages
The same film exists at three stages, following the work: First draft (the text, the characters and the locations born from the text), Development (+ the sheets, an arc, the props), Preparation (+ the casting, the scouting). Each one carries its tutorial: missions, in the Overview.
Your copy
- Script Library › "Open an example…", then First draft, Development or Preparation: a copy opens, yours.
- Change it freely: nobody else sees it.
- Once deleted, the same menu makes a fresh one; if one exists, it reopens it.
Méliès's film is in the public domain; the project's text is a free adaptation of it.
