Characters
Each character has a sheet: their identity, their portrait, their arcs and the scenes they play in. Their casting and their sides are done in Cast.
The list
On the left, the characters sorted by role: leads, supporting, extras, walk-ons, and those still to be qualified. "+" creates one.
A character is also born from a scene (inspector › Characters) or from an import.
The sheet
Identity
- First name and Last name: the name as it appears in the screenplay. Changing it renames the character in all their dialogue.
- Role: lead, supporting, extra, walk-on.
- Sex, nature (human, animal…), age, origin, occupation, circumstances.
- A photo.
Portrait and dramatic drive
The portrait is a free summary. The dramatic drive asks the character's six questions: desire, fear, need, goal, obstacle, stakes.
Go deeper
"Add a field…" opens the list of fields to go deeper, sorted into six categories (appearance, history, relationships, behaviour and relation to the world, psychology, identity details), and free fields. Filled fields are shown one after the other, each with its category; an emptied field is removed.
Arcs
An arc says how the character changes:
- a name and an initial situation: where the character stands at the start;
- turning points: each one an event, the state before and the state after, linked to the scene where it happens;
- a final situation: it is the "after" of the last turning point; changing it here changes it in the turning point.
Turning points linked to a scene appear in Crossed Arcs.
Scenes and media
Scenes lists the ones the character is cast in, from each scene's cast. Media gathers their reference images.
Their colour
On every plan (floor plan, location plans), a character has the colour of their sheet. It is chosen with a click on the dot of their row, in the plan's list.
