Versions

A project version keeps a copy of the whole project, to go back to. The panel opens with Versions, at the bottom of the rail.

Make a milestone

  1. Rail › Versions.
  2. Name the milestone ("before rewriting act 2") and save.

Milestones, named by you, are kept (100 at most per project).

Automatic versions

Gilgamesh also makes some by itself: on the first opening of the day, before each restore. They thin out over time: the 10 most recent, then one a day over 30 days, then one a month over 12 months.

Restore

  1. Choose a version: what differs from the current state is shown.
  2. "Restore".

Restoring destroys nothing: the previous state is kept first, as an automatic "before restore" version. Sent versions, comments and element versions are not touched.

Versions of a single element

A scene, a note or a floor plan setup has its own versions, in its inspector: to go back on a single element without touching the rest.

Export the project

"Export the project (.zip)": an archive with the project's database, its media and the screenplay's text in plain form (Fountain). It is your backup copy, readable without Gilgamesh.
