Import and export formats
The principle: a document leaves Gilgamesh if someone other than you reads it, or if it goes to the set. PDFs go through the browser's print (destination "Save as PDF").
What imports
| What | Formats | Where |
|---|---|---|
| A screenplay | Fountain (.fountain, .txt), Final Draft (.fdx), Word (.docx, 20 MiB at most), text PDF (30 MiB at most) | Script Library › "Create and import a screenplay…"; Write, in the list |
| Conventions | .json | Settings › Conventions |
| Media | photos, sounds, PDFs, 3D models (30 MiB at most); videos (100 MiB at most) | sheets, plans, reference media |
The rules for reading a screenplay: Import a screenplay.
An imported photo is lightened: reduced to 2560 pixels at most, straightened, and stripped of its metadata (where it was taken, the device).
What exports
| Document | Formats | Where |

What does not export
- Organize (the treatment): it comes out through the Step outline, a Bible template.
- Crossed Arcs: arcs come out with the character sheets, in the Bible.
- The Overview: it makes the Bible's title page.
- The review: it is for the screen.
The .csv in a spreadsheet
The separator is chosen in Prep: semicolon (Excel in French and other European locales), comma or tab.
