Guide › Getting started
The Script Library
The Script Library gathers your projects. It shows when no project is open; the Projects block, at the top of the rail, brings you back to it.
One project = one film: its screenplay, its Bible and its preparation.
Create a project
- Type the project's name in "New project".
- "Create": the project opens, empty.
- Fill in the Overview (title, logline), then write in Write.
The author of a new project takes your display name (Settings › Account); authors can then be changed in Settings › Project.
Create and import a screenplay
"Create and import a screenplay…" creates the project and imports a file straight away: Fountain, PDF, Word or Final Draft. A report shows what was found; cancelling creates no project. See Import a screenplay.
Sort into folders
- "+ New folder": a name, and a description if you like.
- Drag a project into the folder. With the keyboard, on a card: Alt+↑ or Alt+↓ moves it into the neighbouring folder, Alt+← takes it out of its folder.
Deleting a folder does not delete its projects: they go back to "No folder".
Delete, restore
- Delete: open the project, then Settings › Project › "Move to trash".
- Restore: Script Library › Trash, within 30 days.
After that, the project is deleted for good, with its versions, its media and its sent versions. While it is in the trash, your readers can no longer open its links; once restored, they can again.
Received versions
When an author sends you a screenplay to read and you have an account, the sent version appears in Received. Open it to read and comment. See Read a sent version.
The example project
"Open an example…" opens your copy of "Le Voyage dans la Lune", at one of its three stages. See The example project.
