Troubleshooting

Known problems and their solution. A problem that is not here: the "Feedback" button, at the bottom right of the app. The app's version, the screen and the latest errors are attached, never the content of your projects.

Account and sign-in

I did not receive the confirmation email. Check your spam folder. The link expires: sign up again if needed (an unconfirmed sign-up is deleted after 7 days).

Sign-in is refused although my password is right. After several failures, sign-in locks for a while. Wait, or use "Forgot your password?".

I lost my phone and my two-factor authentication. Use one of your backup codes. Without them, write to the contact address in the legal notice.

My invitation code does not work. It works only once and expires after 30 days: ask the person who invited you for a new one.

Write

I can't find where to write the screenplay. In Write, scene by scene. Share only puts them end to end.

My scene heading is wrong. It is not typed in the text: correct the location and the time of the action in inspector › Context. The INT. / EXT. type is set in the location's sheet.

A character does not show in the cast. Inspector › Characters › "Extract from the text". A non-speaking character is ticked by hand.

A character appears twice. The same character written two ways ("KING", "THE KING"). Rename one's lines, then delete the duplicate.

Import

The import finds no scene. Headings must start with INT., EXT. or INT./EXT., alone on their line. A scanned PDF (an image) contains no text. See Prepare a screenplay for import.

A sub-location was taken for a time, or the other way round. In the report, touch the sub-location to make it a time. After the import: choose the location and the time in the inspector.

Display

I can't see the list or the inspector. They fold away when an element is open. The list: a second click on the active page, in the rail. The inspector: the button at the top right of the page.

The rail has disappeared. The logo, at the bottom left, shows or hides it. On a phone, it is at the top left of the page.

I can't edit the floor plan on my phone. On a phone, it can only be viewed. It is prepared on a tablet or a computer.

Printing

My PDF does not have the right layout. In the browser's print window: default margins, 100% scale, and tick "Background graphics" if colours are missing.
