Get a version read

You want a producer to read your screenplay, gather their remarks, make corrections, and send them the next version showing what has changed.

1. Prepare the sending

  • If you want to attach a statement of intent, write it in Notes: you will tick it among the sent version's attached notes.
  • Do a review: Overview › Review.

2. Send

  1. Share › inspector › Sent › "New sent version".
  2. Title ("Version 1"), recipient (their name), attached notes.
  3. "Create the sent version".
  4. Copy the recipient's link straight away, and pass it on to them. If they have a Gilgamesh account, choose Account and their username instead: the version arrives in their Received.

3. Receive the remarks

The producer reads without an account and comments on passages. Their comments arrive in the inspector, Comments section, in Share as in Write. The commented scenes carry a dot in Write's list.

  • Reply in the thread: they see your reply.
  • Mark the thread done once it is settled.

4. Send the next version

  1. Make your corrections in Write.
  2. Send a new version to the same recipient ("Version 2").

On your side, Share's Compare bar (From: Version 1, To: Version 2) shows what has changed. On theirs, "What has changed" makes the same comparison, and a free account keeps all the versions for them in one place.

Good to know

  • What you write after sending does not change what they read.
  • "Remove the link" cuts a recipient's access; their comments remain.
  • The PDF they print carries their name as a watermark.
